Partying at the Whiskey Blue in Buckhead

Last week Ann and I went to a party for the relaunch of Delta's Sky magazine at the Whiskey Blue at the W Hotel in Buckhead (Atlanta). I hadn't been in a high-end, swanky lounge (bar) in many, many years – as always, they are interesting places for people watching. I imagine that Buckhead's rich and beautiful frequent the Whiskey Blue on Saturday nights. We walked through the lobby as we left – it is impressive too (we didn't go into any of the hotel rooms – they look great in this video: W Atlanta – Buckhead). Note: valet parking is $12 plus tip.

The party was for the new Delta Sky magazine, relaunched for the combined Delta and Northwest airlines. The redesigned magazine will make its debut in April – and will also be sold on news stands.

As we cruised around the Whiskey Blue, we noticed the limited edition framed photos of rock stars in the bar. The one that really intrigued me is below (a Delta manager took this photo of a photo for me).

I think the photo captures the subject well!

P.S. ATLANTA, March 4, 2009 – Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) today announced a name change for the airline’s more than 50 airport lounges worldwide as part of the merger with Northwest. The new moniker, Delta Sky Club™, will replace the current Delta Crown Room Club® and Northwest Airlines WorldClubs® names.
